Soup & Carols @
St. Ambrose Parish

Pack & Troop 28 brought some Christmas Cheer to the Parish of St. Ambrose in Crest Hill. Homemade soups and breads with Christmas Carols sung by the boys of the Pack & Troop.

 

A time to say "Thank You" to our

Charter Organization.  

Our team is awesome and

made everything happen.

Christmas Caroling @ Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home

Pack & Troop 28 brought some Christmas Cheer to the residents of Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet. The residents were excited to see the boys and their families. We spent some time visiting and wishing them all a Merry Christmas.

Santa Train @ CN Homewood, IL

Jack Frost was nipping at our noses as Pack & Troop 28 visited with Santa Claus at the CN Santa Train in Homewood, IL.  Santa and his helpers were there to welcome the boys & girls of the area. Santa gave the kids a goody bag of gifts. The boys had a chance to walk through passenger train cars and an engine. The boys even got to blow the train whistle as they exited the train. 

Wreathes Across America @ Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery

The Pack & Troop participated in the Wreathes Across America event at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Saturday December 13, 2014. We honored and remembered our Veterans by laying wreathes on their graves. We also helped families locate their loved ones layed to rest in the cemetery. We learned about the history and traditions of the Lincoln Cemetery from volunteers and participated in the opening ceremonies. The outpouring of devotion of the citizens was uplifting and inspirational. 

Light Up The Holidays Parade

The Pack Participated in the Light Up The Holidays Parade in Downtown Joliet on Friday November 28, 2014. The City Center was lit up and ready for the outpouring or civic Pride. Christmas Cheer was in the air. The temperture was cold, but the wind was light made for an enjoyable event in Downtown Joliet.

Visit w/Bishop Daniel Conlon @ St. Ambrose Catholic Church

The Pack & Troop celebrating Mass with Bishop Conlon of the Joliet Diocese when he came and visited St. Ambrose Parish on the weekend of November 21-22, 2014. The boys were so proud to process in and carry up the gifts at the 10 am Mass.

Pumpkin Carving Event

The Pack had their annual pumpkin carving event on Monday October 13, 2014. The boys and their siblings gutted and designed their own faces on their pumpkins.  The artisic designs were absolutely amazing. Very proud of all our Scouts and their siblings for being able to do all the work involved in getting the pumpkins ready. The display of lighted pumpkins were astonishing.

LaSalle Canal Boat Tour

The Pack was awarded a grant to Tour the historic I & M Canal aboard a 19th century canal boat in LaSalle, IL.  LaSalle Canal Boat & Lock 16 Center was a great host and were extremely helpful to the boys. The early history of the establishment of of our canal communities were reenacted by Grizzly Dave. The boys & leaders learned alot about the lives of the settlers of the I&M Cooridor. The boys also gave back, by cleaning up garbage along the historic I&M Trail and Park.  We also had time to visit the Boy Scout Museum in Ottawa and The Cemetary where a Founder of the BSA, W.D. Boyce is laid to rest.

Cub Scout Family Camp @ RSR

Posted September 22, 2014

 

The Pack had a great time at Rainbow Council's Cub Scout Family Camp. It was held at Rainbow Scout Reservation in Morris, IL. The boys were kept busy by the RSR Staff and worked on many achevements and advancement requirements. The weather was good, only a couple of rain showers. The boys were very resilient during the rain and were ready for more.
